Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15th 1960) was an American actress. She is known for her roles in film and television in the 1980s, she's been awarded numerous awards such as two Golden Globe Awards and sixteen NAACP Image Awards in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was born to her aunt in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Born and raised at home in New York New York. Bassett along with her sister who were about five years old, made the move away from the city of their birth to St. Petersburg to live with the mother of their divorced father. When she was in high school Bassett saw John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided that she wanted to become an actor. She was a student at Yale University New Haven Connecticut receiving a bachelor's degree (1980) in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. She was married in 1997. got married to Courtney B. Vance who was also an actor. Qualification: B.A. BA. (Afro-American study) in the year 1980. An M.A. in Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett currently works in one of her leading characters, Ramonda, in the action-adventure movie i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
