Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is an Norwegian musician and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, came out in May 2015 on Decca Records to great approval from music journalists and media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are two of the artist's high-profile recordings. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories involve finding an instrument hidden in the attic of her home, and becoming fascinated with its sounds. Her parents May-Britt along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a profession or a pastime, but as a way to develop. So she started writing her own songs. Her inspirations include famous authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her affinity with Bjork's style. Her mother had told her the songs she wrote were not meant to be famous for her, but instead to inspire people to see the importance of their work and influence in our world at large, she started performing them publicly. When she was six, she began to play the piano, and when she was nine began writing her own songs. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she told her parents. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. The singer claims she is a fan of composing songs. She believes music can make people feel more relaxed.
