Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory was of discovering a piano in her attic and being awed by the sounds it would create. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music, not as an income or as a pastime however, as a chance to improve. As a result, she began to write the music she composed herself. She credits Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, along with Bjork as her main influences. Her mother had informed her that her music could not only help her gain fame, however, they could also help others understand their value in the world and realize what can be done with the songs and her music, she was inspired to start singing in public. Her mother suggested that she be able to perform her music publicly in order in order to make people aware of their own importance and how they could impact the world. She didn't tell her family about her musical journey until she was 14. Aurora had no idea of being a famous singer. The singer claims she is a fan of composing songs. She claims that music is her most preferred way of feeling something.
