Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora and sometimes stylized with the letters in uppercase in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval from music journalists and media. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to learn music as a passion rather as a career. She started writing her own songs. As well as Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence.
